PART OF THE FURNITURE - SPARRA

Definitely a Bruce's Gold club member. Sparra is part of the furniture, except he has outlived most of the furniture at the caf.  We started making jokes that we were his office, but then we actually started to field phone calls asking for him.  If you ever need him,  Tues-Friday 3pm, without fail.

How did you meet?

'Oh it's a great story, we were set up by a mutual friend, we were the only single people at her dinner party, Ian was seated to my left, but I’m blind in that eye, so when my friend asked me what I thought of him, all I could say was 'he has a nice voice!'

Helen and Ian are responsible for some of our lush vegies, they are also big donators to Produce to the People Tasmania, avid mushroom hunters, Platypus stalkers, twitter stars and climate crusaders.  Plus Helen has one of the loudest, most joyful, warmest laughs going around.

COMMUNITY NURSE - LEONIE

'Life has its challenges, but I wake up every morning and am thankful for everything'

SIDENOTE 

Leonie has been a community nurse for over 24yrs, she actually cared for Bruce towards the end of his life.  Her and her beautiful posse' of ladies frequent the cafe almost everyday.  

She is this wonderful, caring and amazing story teller, a true lover of life.  

(and incredibly bashful so will probably hate me for saying all this)

'this is us.  We opened the caf in 2009, the same year our second daughter Evie was born.  Corey would bring the girls into the cafe every 3hrs so I could breastfeed, Evie slept in her capsule behind the counter a few times, and Lola learnt to walk on the cafe floor before we set up the first table'
